"[My husband] had not seen the show; he just walked in while I was hormonal and watching it, and I was like, 'Ilya's beautiful,' and he was like, 'Yes, it is really great.'"

That is Carly Rae Jepsen, talking to People, confirming what she had previously teased: her son, Ilya Blue, is named after Ilya Rozanov, the hockey star Connor Storrie plays in the queer hockey drama. Jepsen and her husband, producer Cole M.G.N., welcomed him in March, a few months after they married.

She did not treat it lightly. Picking the name, she said, "almost felt like the most important creative decision I've ever made," which is a big claim from the woman who wrote "Call Me Maybe." And her review of the show, for the record: "It is incredible, and I laughed, I cried, all of the things." She says she will be watching season two.

So to recap: the woman who gave us "Call Me Maybe" now has a baby named after a fictional gay hockey player. Somewhere, a man named Shane is feeling very seen.
