Amanda Lepore and Tinashe on one bill. Somebody at the Midwest Princess Project understands us.
Chappell Roan has announced the lineup for The Super Graphic Spectacular, two benefit nights at the Shrine in Los Angeles on Oct. 21 and 22. The official poster has Roan headlining both, with Caleb Hearon hosting (last seen in these pages getting arrested with Hannah Einbinder and Susan Sarandon). Oct. 21 brings Lola Young, Tinashe, Amanda Lepore, Blaine Petrovia and Kyra Jeté. Oct. 22 brings Caroline Polachek, MUNA, Alisa Mae, Fantasia Royale Gaga and Sweaty Eddie. SPIN says the shows also feature drag, burlesque and circus acts, and that Roan and collaborators close out the night to mark the organization's first year.
The money goes to the Midwest Princess Project, the nonprofit Roan founded "to uplift trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities through action, care, and connection," per its own site. SPIN reports Cash App, eBay, MAC Cosmetics and MISTR as partners.
No ticket? There is a daytime Super Graphic Block Party in the Shrine's West Lot from 1 to 4 p.m., which SPIN says costs $15 for the public, with net proceeds going to the project. Drag, food trucks, nonprofit booths, and giveaways for the evening show. Ticket holders get a later slot, 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The fans took the news in the most normal way possible: the lineup post from Pop Crave passed 33,000 likes. The rest of us are pricing flights to LAX for a Wednesday.
