the heated rivalry creator says the line on nudity was his, not the actors': "I'm not showing your dicks." we would like to file a complaint.

Every lifted knee, every convenient hip, every bedsheet doing the Lord's work in "Heated Rivalry" season one: that was choreography, and it was one man's call.
Creator Jacob Tierney said so on Sunday at "A Night of Heated Rivalry," a book event at the Brooklyn Paramount with Andrew Rannells, according to Out and the full video of the conversation. Rannells asked how the sex scenes came together with the actors and an intimacy coordinator. Tierney said they were choreographed "like dances," and got specific: "It's like you've got to lift your leg here to hide this part of your body."
what jacob tierney actually said
Then the line everyone is quoting: "It was actually more about what I wanted to show. I was like, it's not a joke. I was like, I'm not showing your dicks." The modesty garments meant "a lot of negotiation around that, around their bodies," he said, and "the boys were both very game."
A small note, because a fan account with 46,000 likes on its post summarized this as Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams being "willing to go full frontal" before Tierney "shut it down." That is a reasonable reading of "very game" and "what I wanted to show," but neither actor said it, and Tierney did not say it in those words either. What he said is that the limit was his. The legs were his. Direct all correspondence accordingly.
He also described the early Zoom calls before casting, sending both actors early drafts and telling them they needed to say whether they were comfortable, because he couldn't find out on set. Storrie, who has had quite a year, was one of the first people to read for the show.
season 2 is six episodes
Two days later, on SiriusXM's "Andy Cohen Live," Tierney confirmed season two will be six episodes, the same as the first, per Yahoo Entertainment and ShowSnob. Yahoo reports production should wrap by the end of the year. Six more episodes of carefully placed knees. We'll take it.
the internet reacts
the fandom took the news with the grace and composure you would expect.
Unbothered @OneOfTheRatzSo Off Campus got to have full frontal but not Heated Rivalry…oh Jacob 😫534 likesTheo(dore) Foxx @FoxxDoesThingsThe real reason that Heated Rivalry couldn't do full frontal nudity is that Russians are not routinely circumcised, while Americans are. It would have thrown off the immersion.105 likes
