coming to vegas? there are 9 gay bars and not one of them is on the strip
Las Vegas has 9 gay bars, and not one of them is on the Strip. The city that will build you a fake Venice and a fake Paris has never bothered to build a gay bar where the tourists are, so the gays did what they always do and built their own neighborhood instead: the Fruit Loop, on Paradise Road, a ride from the casinos and a world away from them. Most of these bars never close, most of them have slot machines, and one of them has been open since 1981. Here is all of it: the map, the addresses, what each place actually is, and the ones this town just lost.

Loading the map. Every bar is listed with its address below.
the fruit loop
The LGBTQ district around Paradise Road and Naples Drive, close to UNLV, which the Nevada Legislature recognized as a historic LGBTQ+ landmark in 2025. Three bars within a short walk of each other, and the only place in town where a gay bar crawl does not involve a car.
Piranha Nightclub
4633 Paradise RoadFruit Loop
The big one. Multiple dance floors, DJs, go-go dancers and drag, open 365 days a year with doors at 10pm, and by its own count one of the city's LGBTQ nightlife destinations for more than 20 years. It shares an owner, real estate magnate Jerry Masini, with Gipsy across the street, so two of the three Fruit Loop bars answer to the same man. Go late. Going early is how you end up alone with the go-go boys and a lot of eye contact.
Gipsy
4605 Paradise RoadFruit Loop
Open since 1981, started by queer activist Marge Jacques and her business partner Kerin Rodgers, and the anchor of the Fruit Loop ever since. The current version is a 2024 remodel, open Thursday through Sunday nights plus a Saturday brunch. Its creative director, Garrett Pattiani, told the Review-Journal this month that Liberace, Siegfried & Roy and Cher all came through the club. A 45-year-old gay bar in a city that implodes its own history for fun is the rarest thing on this list.
QuadZ Video Bar
4640 Paradise RoadFruit Loop
Open 24 hours, seven days a week, with pool tables, darts and video games, and the Fruit Loop's answer to where do we go now at any hour you could possibly ask it. Same owners as Badlands, further down, and there is a sister QuadZ in Palm Springs, so if it feels familiar, that is why. Not the place you plan the night around. The place the night ends up.
twain avenue
About a mile north on East Twain, three bars in a row, two of which share a parking lot. This is the 24-hour, slot-machine, come-as-you-are side of gay Vegas.
Flex Cocktail Lounge
Flex called West Charleston Boulevard home from 1996 until early 2022, then came back on Twain, where it is now open 24 hours with no cover, 21 and up, and 15 bar-top gaming machines because this is Nevada and the slots follow you everywhere. Karaoke Wednesdays, the My O My Drag Show on Thursdays, Underwear Night on Fridays. It shares its parking lots with Fun Hog Ranch next door, which is the most efficient bar crawl in the city.
Fun Hog Ranch
The leather bar. Open 24 hours, cash only (there is an ATM), and its own site says fetish and leather wear is strongly encouraged while allowing that street clothes can be sexy too, which is generous. Gear Night and Bears Roam the Ranch are the nights to know. With the Eagle gone, it is the only bar on this list built around leather.
Dust Las Vegas
855 East Twain Avenue, Suite 114Twain
The newest room here, founded by DJ and bar owner Ryan Bandy in the old Jimmy's @ Madison's space. Drag, a Latin-inspired pizza menu and, since it added gaming, video poker; Bandy told QVegas somebody hit a $20,000 jackpot inside the first two weeks. Its site now says it is open 24 hours, and the calendar has MEGAWOOF America taking over the place from late October into November. Bears, pizza, video poker. I have described my dream and it exists.
everywhere else
Three more, each in its own corner of the valley. You will need a car or a rideshare for all of them.
The Phoenix Bar & Lounge
4213 West Sahara AvenueWest Side
Las Vegas Weekly readers named it Best LGBTQ Bar in 2025 and again in 2026, and the Weekly calls it gay-owned and operated. Karaoke, pool and drag shows, and Cyndi Lauper has paid a visit. It is out on the west side, nowhere near the tourists, and it threw this year's Pride Night Parade After Party. Its website just forwards to Facebook, so check Instagram for the night's lineup.
The Garage
1487 East Flamingo RoadNear UNLV
A gay sports bar one block east of Maryland Parkway, near UNLV, decorated like an auto body shop and open 24/7/365. Pool, darts, shuffleboard, video poker, trivia and game day watch parties, and a happy hour from 11am to 7pm where any drink is buy one, get one. Las Vegas Weekly readers named it Best LGBT Bar in 2023. The lowest-stakes good time in the city.
Badlands Saloon
953 East Sahara Avenue, #22BCommercial Center
A gay bar for more than 30 years in the Commercial Center, and once famous for its country-western theme, which the current owners (the QuadZ guys) swapped for a chill video bar open 24/7 with gaming. It was on Bar Rescue after the pandemic shutdowns. As of early 2025 it was running bingo on Mondays, trivia Tuesdays, karaoke Wednesdays and the Hips, Heels, Tucks drag show on Fridays at 11pm. Its website is dead, so call or check before you go; it is the one bar here we would not cross town for without confirming.
is there a gay bar on the las vegas strip?
No. Not one of the bars on this list is on the Strip, and every one of them is a short ride off it. Plan on a car or a rideshare from your hotel, and plan on it being worth it: the rooms above are where the city's queer locals actually drink, which is more than you can say for any casino lounge. While we are being honest: we could not find a single bar in Las Vegas that is for queer women first. If there is one, tell us and it goes at the top of this page.
gone too soon
Here because people still search these by name, and because a guide that only tells you where to go is half a guide.
Las Vegas Eagle, 3430 East Tropicana Avenue. Opened in 1988 and poured its last drink on September 30, 2026, after almost four decades. We covered the closing here.
Bent Inn & Pub, 207 North 11th Street, Downtown. A gay boutique hotel with a bar attached. It opened in October 2023 and announced it was closing on September 30, 2024, after barely a year.
So: start on Paradise Road, end on Twain, and leave the Strip to the bachelorette parties. If you are drinking at home instead, we keep a list of queer-owned brands worth pouring, and we have mapped New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami too.
Hours and addresses change and bars close faster than anybody can publish. Every bar here was checked against its own website or two independent sources the week this went up. Call ahead if you are traveling for it, and if we have something wrong or a bar we missed, tell us and we will fix it with a date on it.
