"Sleep with your eyes open. I'm coming for you." That is a line from the Forty Love trailer Studiocanal France put up on Thursday, and it is how a lot of us are going to remember the day Romeo Beckham started acting.

Forty Love is a French tennis drama and his first film role. Paul Kircher plays Sacha Gallo, a 21-year-old tennis player, per Attitude. Beckham plays the new rival whose arrival throws him. The trailer makes clear this is not a sports movie with a gay subplot. Somebody says it is "the perfect opportunity for us to become more than just enemies." Somebody else, at a press table, worries people will think he wants to be the other man's boyfriend. Somebody tells somebody it is not their fault the other one is in love with them. And there is a kiss between two men, lit like a perfume ad. The Daily Mail says it is Beckham's; Attitude says the rivalry "turns romantic." We will let the box office settle the details.

The director is Pierre-Ange Carlotti, a fashion photographer making his first feature, which is why every frame looks like it would sell you a jacket. Guillaume Canet, Benjamin Voisin and Catherine Deneuve round out the cast. The score is by 070 Shake and Johan Lenox, and it was produced at Chi-Fou-Mi with Studiocanal co-producing, PinkNews and Attitude both report. It opens in French cinemas on Nov. 25. An international release is still unannounced.

Not everyone was thrilled when the first images landed in September; PinkNews counted a wave of "nepo baby" complaints. Fair, honestly. But a nepo baby who could have done a fragrance campaign chose a French art film where he kisses a man, and we are choosing to call that taste.
